Baroque (PS2 help)

Anybod ycare to explain this game to me? I bought it and I'm just basically item collecting and hack and slashing down levels. The cutscenes tell me nothing and why is it that somee brandings i can use and others I cant. Why can't I fuse my baroques either? I threw one in one of the conciousness orbs and grabbed it off the Collector and took it to Baroquemonger but when i gave it to him nothing happened? Can anybody explain how to truely play this game and beat it?Baroque (PS2 help)
Well I havent played it but from what I know, there is something you can do... Die. Since you are stuck and there is nothing else to do, die and see what happens, some events will surely open up inaccessible areas.Baroque (PS2 help)
unfortunately that only works to an extent. As far as I've gotten I can't unlock anything else from dying.
I hate this damn forum.... I just typed a butt load of stuff and pressed submit and this site then told me I wasn't logged in.... and erased all my dialog. This seems to happen every time on this damn forum.... Why can't gamespot check the requirements of log-in before you enter the forums and not after you hit the submit button..... Or at the very least have it to where it will take you back to your written stuff.... (BTW: my screen name was in the upper right corner as if I was logged in....)Anyway.... lets see how much of this crap that I had already written,,, I can remember. You can only equip one brand per life.... there are brands that will remove brands but they are hard to come by. I think the insect girls will drop them, but by the time you start seeing them, you probably won't care about what brand you have stamped on you, by then. You'll be about 6 floors to the bottom by then... and will probably be bypassing enemies in finding an exit, by then, too.The crystal orbs... can only be fused to a crystal sword. Which are about impossible to find. I only found one in about 20 deaths so far, and I got it by fusing two items together on that bronze looking scale thing that shows up every 4th level or so. I didn't even use it because I had a better sword equppied and then I lost the crystal sword due to death... Seem the crystal orbs also unlock titles. Think that's what happens when you give them to that guy. Outside a game you can load a save and see your collections... one of the list has to do with titles.. I'm guessing most of the titles comes from those orbs, when you have that guy look at them. But not sure on that. Also on the collection list there is one for voiced dialog. And the last icon seems clickable... so I guess something happens after you collect a whole roll of dialog. And the NPC's say different things when you throw stuff at them, hit them, and whatnot. So it's probably going to take a whole lot of effort to unlock all this stuff. There is another collection list of items... Which means you have to send every item in the game to the outside world, I'm guessing the more different items you send the more stuff the runt can hold for you. The problem is that you are lucky to find such a location to send stuff out every 6th floor or so.... and you can only send out 1 item out per thing you find in a level. so neatless to say...it's going to take forever to send every item to the outside. And will probably be impossible to keep track of what you've sent out. Although, i recall the game saying something about the item being a different color if you have it in the collection list.... But I don't remember if that is throughout the whole game or only on the screen where you retreve your stuff (which, would be pointless.)Overall, it looks like this game is really short as far as things to do. Seem the main tower is only 16 floors deep... Maybe the floors get deeper as you unlock stuff? I should have left this one at the store... don't think this game is worth 40 bucks.... probably not worth 20 bucks. Seems to me the main goal of the game is to make everyone happy in it before you reach the bottom of the tower... But how to do that....I have no clue. The game is to vague for it's own good.
Unfortunately it seems that's the entire case allright. As I've progressed in the game Ive started trying out different things with the characters I find and basically the main goal of the game since its so short isn't getting to the bottom of the tower but rather you're to collect all the seraph ideas and basically fill out the database...and yeah I dont' think it is worth the 40 dollars I paid for it but I'm not one to throw out games so I'll beat it and keep it in my collection. I mean it's nice for hack and slash if you're bored and ticked off.
i saw adam and morgan reviewing this game last night on x-play and it looked horrible...
I've noticed the color change... When you highlight an item in your inventory...if the description title on the bottom is in red, then you've sent it up already. Also seems like a number of titles or baraque names, are given to you by how you die in the dungeon... Get killed by an enemy stepping on a explosion plate, or by eating into a boom bone, and you get a title unlocked. I don't know about my previous theory about the crystal obs unlocking titles... have yet to get one that way. Have noticed that in the character list you get text unlocked for every cryastal orb that goes with the character. Some characters have a whole lot of entries, too. And if purifying those round dudes in their gages is a one time only thing.... then I missed almost all of them. So, I suggest you send everyone of those orbs up and have that corner guy look at it, 'cause if it is a one time only thing.... guess I'll have to start a new game with the previous database to finish that collection of crystal orb descriptions.
its not horrible ive played it
if the game wasnt too hard it would be great game... no matter what you do your life decreases with time and sometimes life heal items dont appear much... so the game becomes really pain...but its a rogue-like game, so its like real life experience. noone tells you stories out of nowhere, you should go to find people to tell you stories. when you die you just reborn and start from where you started again... i liked the game but it was painfully difficult... in one time i found heal items easily and i went to lower areas easily but in another try,i couldnt find even one heal item and died at 5th floor...its just a wasted game, sadly
haha same here dude, actually to die is the best thing in the game, thats what i heard of it, but you will restart from lvl 1 again kinda suck but i kinda like the game saving it for winter
check the FAQ's/walkthrough on the game board. if i remember correctly there are a couple real good ones in there. i got this game too but haven't had time to play it yet (i literally have a back log of about 50 games and the majority of them are RPG's)
