Need opions for both of the PS2 .hack series

I own vol 1 and 3 of the first set and well as till sealed vol 2 if I can't finda better version of it (missing case art, manual and second anime disc)ANYWAYS the question is I find .hack vol 1 to be decent so far after 3.5 hours. So far I would give the game about a 7.5-8 overall. And well G.U. is becoming harder to find and I managedto find copies of Vol 1 and 2 of G.U.So the question is based on what I think the first .hack series deserves. Is G.U. something I will enjoy about the same or alot more?Since Gamespot here is well.... unreliable with some games. I agree with them 70% of the time but with something like this and a few other games I have played I disagree with their scores. So that is why I am looking forward to see if there is any other .hack playas here. Need opions for both of the PS2 .hack series
I honestly think that if you play that game for like 10 hours u will find the game repetitive heres a good game to try out on all pre gen systems golden eye rogue agent. Don't go off the gamespot score because it is pretty good and has lots of variety. For like $10 Need opions for both of the PS2 .hack series
the first series and the second series are pretty different. I would say they are about equal. GU has alot of improvements like awesome graphics and better combat but theres alot of stuff I miss from the first series like getting vrus cores and having to hack gates and stuff. I love .hack to death but even I have to admit that the games fell kinda flat. Not very good replay value in either series. I have played through both series completely though.

I didnt like not getting to make your own characters improvement system. You max out your levels and equipment and theres no way t keep growing and getting stronger.

Your damn near finished owning the entire .hack collection dude you might as well keep going. They are definately worth owing over a hell of alot of other RPG's. What do you need just 2 more? Stick with it.

I HIGHLY recommend you get Phantasy Star Universe 1-2 though. Its a real MMO and has real mmo mechanics. You can play offline for free. If you like .Hack then you should love that game to death and it DOES have replay value.
the first hack serie is somehow a torture,I played it through because the story was so fascinating. but anything else is tedious and boringthe second serie is a lot better but gets repetitive even before ending the first one,in chapter 2 and 3 there are little changes to the combat system that makes them interesting but the enemies are only stronger versions of the enemies you have fought before, because of this the little changes in the combat never change anything about the fact that the games are monotonous,so you have to like it a lot to finish it ,but, in my opinion it's a good idea to try it and see if you like it,and,if you do, you won't regreat getting the other two.
the gameplay gets dull, and the environments are pretty bland... but the story is great. i rented them, and played them all in order, but i have never had the desire to play them twice. i wish the gameplay has been better. it could have been one of the best collections for the PS2.the idea of a non-online MMORPG is unique and recreated fairly well.
