I am the opposite of you I loved my snes and I still do. I loved the game box because if you can find it in mint condition it is worth more money. Well since most of my favorite rpgs came on the snes I have to go with console. But each to us own we all have our own differences and likes. Best looking / coolest / practical cartridge? What system = best cartridges?
the Atari lynx had awesome super thin cartridge with a curve. there was nothing better.
the sonic and knux cart
dont go for how good it looks go for the gameplay
The Nintendo DS
Are you talking about the cartridges or the boxes?Cartridges: NES. Good size, end labels, stack well, etc.Boxes: All the systems that use DVD cases
The n64 had the best boxes. As for best cartridge, either the original Gameboy or SNES
EDIT:
I forgot about the glorious AES cartridges:

The PAL SNES is much prettier than the NTSC version in every aspect and PAL cartridges stack up very well. Also I never saw one lose a sticker.
I don't know what the best would be, doesn't really matter. But the N64 carts were annoying, no label on the top, made it a pain to find games without having to flip throw everyone.

I bought a label-maker for that very reason. Works fine for me.
The Nintendo DS
Yeah, I agree. The boxes are thight and fresh and square. The boxes are a lot better than the gameboy advance (color, classic) boxes. Seeing DS games, just wants me want to buy a DS.
I really love the SNES cartridges. I guess it's mostly nostalgia.
This reminds me of the ''Angry Videogame Nerd'' for some reason.
With that said I liked the Sega Genesis and NES cartridges the best.
IMO the coolest looking and practical cartridge was the sega genesis.
I really liked the nes cartridges as well as original gameboy. The snes ones are right up there but I usually find them beat up the most when I go to buy them.
Also, if this counts, the psp has the worst cartridge I've seen to date, it always falls apart. It's a tiny cd inside of a case, so I think that kinda makes it a cartridge?

It reminds me of the really old CD roms where you had to load your CD into a plastic tray and then put it into the drive.
I like the Genesis cases except for thing. Most all had that hanger on the top of the box back from when games were kept behind glass and had to be hung to save space. It Gets annoying when stacking tons of games. Or you could cut the top of, but that kinda ruins the look of the case.I really used to like the Intellivision cases. The opened like a book and had a plastic cartridge cradle on on side and a flap on teh other for instructions and overlays.
sega genesis has the best cartridges. they have end labels, theyre a nice neutral black, the stickers are as bright and vibrant as any other system, they're durable, and the cases they come in are way harder to ruin just by wear and tear.2nd is either japanese snes cartridges or n64, but they dont have end labels and the boxes break easy so they cant be 1st :P
