do you have to pay yojimbo to attack?

In FFX i recently got the aeon, yojimbo for a price of 1,910,000 (the nerve of that aeon!). i lost most of my credits and now i only have 1,500 gil. so i decided to check how strong this aeon could be. his introduction in battle is dramatic and to my surprise, his magic gauge is zero! to my surprise, you only got two options: either to pay him or dismiss him in battle. is he always like this? how about if overdrive modes, do you have to pay him for that attack. i only summoned him once and spent 100gil for an attack then dismissed him (i'm saving up my gils for support items just in case). by the way, his attacks varries to the amount/value you pay? do you have to pay yojimbo to attack?
Wow you overpayed for him. You should have looked up him on Gamefaqs so you can see how you're supposed to hustle him for a lower price. And yes he asks for pay to attack everytime. I simply gave him 1 gil all the time, and he gave me satisfactory results. do you have to pay yojimbo to attack?

I recently paid for his services too. I didnt want to let him go since I wanted to get all the aeons, but once I summoned him in battle and found out I had to pay him again I immediately dismissed him. Havent summoned him since. :P
The only 2 reasons you get him 1. Required for certain things and full completion. 2. Cheesy 1 hit kills on bosses assuming you pay enough.
[QUOTE=''Alter_Echo''] The only 2 reasons you get him 1. Required for certain things and full completion. 2. Hey,You have to at least pay Yojimbo 1gil for him to do anything, paying him 1gil will probably trigger his weakest attack in which he uses his pet dog to attack for him (his weakest attack is still pretty good tho)To make him do better moves you have to pay him quite a bit more money, I've heard depending on what stage of the game your at and how much gil you have personally will effect how much gil is needed for which attack. Reminder - He only uses 3-4 attacks Hope this helped, Visit my profile and leave a comment if it did :D

Phantom Dust

I saw Phantom Dust at GameStop for a really cheap price ($4) the other day and was kind of hesitant to buy it because of the card battle system. I've never played that type of game and was wondering if it's anything like turn-based fighting or a completely different system altogether. Feedback on the game and the combat is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Phantom Dust
i've never played it either, but for $4 I'd say it's worth the risk.when i'm looking at games to rent or buy, I usually search the GameSpot website. The combination of professional reviews, and fan based reviews rarely steers me wrong... and if they happen to not have a review (which is rare) they even link to other site's reviews. Very helpful. Phantom Dust
It's an alright game, but the 'card game' is bull. You have a list of abilities that you can use during a battle, and it might seem like a card battle thing, but when you play it's nothing like that. It's worth the 4 bucks, however, it takes a LONG time to get started. Expect the first few hours to just be learning missions.
Not really a card based system. I played the game years ago so I don't remember the exact style, but it is more real time. You select your spells that you want to use but fight continues while you do.
It's actually a really sweet game. Very Japanese, if you will but good none the less. It's similar to the Metal Gear Acid games if you've ever played that series except combat is done at real-time. You create a deck with different offensive, defensive and physical abilities. During battle orbs will appeal and you equip said orb on to one of the four face buttons. Then you commence with the battle; this is all done on the fly during real-time which adds a lot of intensity to the fray since you're strategies have to adapt quickly. Personally, I was really happy they released this game on the xbox. My only complaint would have to be the length, otherwise an extremely solid game.
Phantom Dust is an awesome game. The game is great, and the combat system isn't really like a card game. You pick certain spells to put into an arsenal, and then they spawn in a location on the map in a random order. You pick them up and use them against your enemy. The card thing is somewhat of a misnomer.Definitely get the game.

I'm stuck in Final Fantasy X (Spoilers)

I'm at the beginning where the place gets destroyed by this round ball of water, and I'm somehow underwater. I have the option of going down by pressing O, but I have no idea how to advance in the story.I'm stuck in Final Fantasy X (Spoilers)
Umm.... I don't know where you're at.Have you met some girl in wierd looking armor, yet? Have you been chased by a large fish, yet? If you are working for that girl, then you just keep going down.... don't worry about air... these guys never seem to need any.I'm stuck in Final Fantasy X (Spoilers)

I'll make it more clear, I am after the part where auron holds Tidus's shirt and says, ''It all begins here'' while they're being sucked through what looked like a huge tornado. Again, this is in the very beginning.

Oh I think I know where you are.I'll try my best to not give anything anyway and to make this contain spoilers. You have just arrived at this random water place yes? Swim around (you can go as deep as you like. You may even find some potions or something) and run along things. I think you can run along some tree thing coming out of the water.SPOLIER: I think then you might have to fight this fish. Shouldn't be too difficult.Just keep travelling along the given path. There is really only one path you can take. Eventually you'll arrive in a place where a cut-scene will commence.I really hope I'm right. I haven't played the game in years. :P Sorry if I'm wrong or I've ruined anything for you.
lol I think u should just keep pressing the O button until u arrive at the building under u
Just keep swimming north until you can exit the water. Eventually you trigger a cut scene. Its impossible to go the wrong way. Its entirely linear.

I think I know where you are. Jecht should be standing somewhere, and you have to go talk to him. Look around for him and just swim to him.

Did u ever own a TG-16 and/or a Saturn?

I consider the Turbo Grafx-16, and the Sega Saturn to be the 2 most obscure systems.
I just want to see how many people here owned either one, or both of these ill-fated consoles.I owned neither. But I've known a couple people who did. Just a couple though.Did u ever own a TG-16 and/or a Saturn?
I had a Saturn and I loved it. I miss being able to play a near perfect port of X-Men COTA or Street Fighter Alpha or World Series Baseball. Sure the cases sucked and they wre ultra fragile, but it was a nice little system... it was the last Sega system I owned.Did u ever own a TG-16 and/or a Saturn?
I had both. Bonk was my fav system on the TG16 and the Saturn I remember going nuts on In The Hunt(Submarine game). I loved both of these systems
Yes I owned both, along with a 3d0 and a vintage Commodore 64 as my obscure systems. They were all good systems, but Saturn really struggled with 3d, 3d0 had a lot of games with quality issues, and TG-16 had expensive games that you could usually beat in one night.
There are far more obscure systems than the Turbografx-16 or Saturn. Do the 3DO, Atari Jaguar, Apple Pippin, or Playdia ring a bell?

The TG-16 and Saturn both sold 10,000,000 units, which isn't bad.

And yes, I own a Saturn and consider it to be the best system ever made. I've played a TG-16 and do plan on buying one soon.

Bonk 1-3, Air Zonk, both Bomberman games, Alien Crush, Blazing Lazers, Galaga '90, Legendary Axe 1 and 2, New Adventure Island, Neutopia 1 and 2, Pac-Land, R-Type, Space Harrier, Snatcher, and Turrican were outstanding. I would be glad to have a ''door stop'' that could play those. If you could play Turbo-CD games and Japanese imports, things went from awesome to amazing in a hurry.
I have Saturn. It is still good console. I have several great games for Saturn.I always wanted to get Turbo Duo because my friend gave me Dracula X. =/ Some Turbo games were great games.

Say, didn't Panasonic have a system of their own at one time?

EDIT: I'm surprised you never mentioned the Phillips Cd-i.
Nope, but i always wanted both of them. Now I'm seriously considering getting a saturn, but I have played TG16 games and they are mostly crap. a few other consoles that i want, but not many people have : Jaguar, NeoGeo, 3do, Nomad
I own a saturn and i still play it every now and then. one of the all time greats IMO

i used to shoot womprats with my T-16 back home, they're not much bigger than 2 meters.
I have a sega saturn and I have a PC-engine which is the japanese version of the TG-16
i have a saturn and i can play tg 16 games on wii lol no need for that! and quite frankly many of the games are on other plats as well ,
The only 2 ''released'' systems i do not own are the CDi and the 3do. I really want to secure a Neptune but they are essentially impossible to get unless you have massive resources or inside connections.

|I own U.S. %26 Import Sega Saturn....the import titles is where the strong software titles are at. I played Turbo-Graphics at a friend's house when I was younger. It had some pretty nice shmups.
I still own a TG16. Aside from my cousin, I don't personally know anyone else who has/had one, but I don't think it's rare, just not popular. My brother used to have a Saturn...I think he sold it for beer money.

  • Help naming these 2 old games!

Hi, there's 2 games that have been on my mind recently, which i used to play many years ago.The first was for the PS1, it was a overhead figher, you'd fight in like a arena, you'd be monsters, i can remember one was like a scorpion so you could call it a ''Party'' fighter? The second is for the Gamecube, it was a racing game similar to Mario Kart, but i only remember battle mode as that's what i used to always play with my freind, i can remember the graphics being cartoony, and that one of the weapons you could use was a spear which would pin the other kart to wall.If anyone could name any of these, it'd be greatly apprecicated, because theyve been doing my head in! Help naming these 2 old games!
for gamecube you may mean ''freaky flyers'' or ''cel damage'' for the other game, I have no idea, you don't give enough information to remember the game if you haven't played it for hours,I haven't play the 2 game I mentioned before, but finding information about them was never that hard.Help naming these 2 old games!

Xbox: Chaos Theory random disc death?

Alright, I was playing sc:ct and it was working fine. Then I decide I want to play some more and for some reason the screen won't get past the first time it loads with sams head. Anyone know why? My xbox still plays other games though.Xbox: Chaos Theory random disc death?
The same thing happens to me on my 360.In HL2, every time I get to a certain spot, the game freezes. It runs other gaes fine, though. Is the Orange Box disk permenantly messed up? Xbox: Chaos Theory random disc death?
its probably your disc, where did you place the disc after you finished playing?did you let someone see it or borrow it?
Nope. And I keep my discs in pretty good shape, too.I guess I had a stroke of bad luck.

Need a name of this Arcade game.

I played this years ago in a arcade once, it was a beat em up where you would go around taking out zombies, from what I remember you can knock of there limbs to so it was quite a gory game, I think you are chasing a scientist around or something (not splatter house). Also it was co op so there was more than one playable character, I remember one guy had metal arms; I know this is a weak description but any help would be great. Need a name of this Arcade game.
