Now that the Gamecube's era has ended,
Think back...
If the gamecube were to have one game as the overall best game ever for the cube, what would it be? Also, state your reasons.
Unofficial ';Game of the Gamecube.';
For me it's a toss up between RE4 and MGS Twin Snakes. RE4 changed the way we play RE games and offered such a solid high polished game that very few games can match. MGS, more of a nastalgia game for me, was a game I'll always regard as an all time favorite.Unofficial ';Game of the Gamecube.';
For me its a tie beetween re4 and eternal darkness
Metroid Prime. That was the most atmospheric game ever created, and the graphics were unparalled back when it came out in 2002.
Metroid Prime 1.
Metroid Prime 2 and RE4 tie for second.
It's between Metroid Prime and SSBM for me... Melee provided countless hours of fun (especially multiplayer), while Metroid Prime is one of the single greatest games i've ever played.
Sonic Adventure 2: Battle: It was a new era of Sonic, Nintendo Sonic... That... and the game is simply sweet.
I'll got against the usual MP and RE4 stuff. Tales of Symphonia and F-Zero GX were great. :)
mega man anniversary collection, because it's option mode is helpful and it lets me get better in parts like the part in mega man 2 were you get to the last boss you can put the difficulty on easy an the lives on 3 and i could get better and stuff.
I've played super smash bros. melee and liked the game very much, and me and my brother played it a lot with the characters siegfreed and roy, we played for a long time and till we got good at the game and then we played nesses level and then it got fun!, i wish we had that game.
i liked re4 because of the outside look, and the way you can fight in a village was pretty awsome!, i liked that game but not as much as sonic adventure 2 battle!, and i like mega man anniversary collection, right now I'm play the hardest way... with difficulty normal and lives 3!, I'm practicing with the end of the game on mega man 2 right now and it's pretty challenging i wish the mega man games were easier, and i did not get earth bound for Christmas, oh well maybe I'll get it later!, and by the way have any of you guys ever beat illusion of gaia?, i got to the second form of the last boss and then got stuck and dyed... to bad :) lol.
i like eternal darkness.
I would say Melee, because it is one of those games that you still play after all these years, and it's still fun. It might look old, but it doesn't feel dated, and playing 4-player absolutely rocks!! I would say Melee is in the top 3 games of all time as far as multiplayer goes.
Then I would say WindWaker, because it was not only a great Zelda game, but it had its own style and took its own risks, drastically deviating from the Zelda norm. There were numerous sidequests, but they were really fun, and all the extras were great, such as all the buried treasure. Having the instrument not be a woodwind was a creative change, and the boat being your horse was kinda cool. The story rocked, it definetely kept the saga moving. The sword techniques that you learned from Orca are pretty cool, like the Huricane spin and stuff.
As far as the one game that rocked the Gamecube: Melee.
After all these years that the Gamecube has been out, people still can't get enough of melee. Improved in so many ways over the 64 version, the quality multiplied, the QUANTITY multiplied, such a huge game.
Super Smash Bros Melee gets my vote!
paper mario: the thousand year door, completely innovative.
I guess if I had to choose, it would probably be Resident Evil 4. Metroid Prime is a close second, but Resident Evil 4 is the total package. You get an amazing story, some of the best boss battles ever, uncensored action, intense gameplay, deviously smart enemies. Plus tons of great unlockables. :)
Ever since project Dolphin ( later to become Gamecube) was annouced back in 1999, I had always been thinking what it would be like to get a ''next generation'' sequel to Ocarina of Time. Unlike others, I loved Majora's Mask, but it was more of the same presentation-wise. Even though I really loved Wind Waker, it wasn't really what I had in mind. Therefore when they finally announced Twilight Princess, I was happy that the system would get what I actually had desired for so long.Metriod Prime was awesome. Resident Evil 4 blew me away. But these were pleasant surprises. The real reason I got into the Gamecube in the first place was for Twilight Princess. I may have had to wait for 7 years, but I finally got what I wanted, and it still surpassed my expectations. Amazing. So for me, Twilight Princess is the game of the Gamecube. I know it's also on Wii, but as far as that's concerned, I look at that as a Gamecube port. Nothing more.
SSBM for me. Me and my friends still play this religiously to this day (except now on the Wii) and have never gotten sick of it.
I always feel that multiplayer is the most important aspect of a game. Itis what gives a game unlimited replayability.
Oh, Smash Bros. Melee, without a doubt. It surpassed pretty much any game on any platform in sheer play time for me. It came out really early too, so of course there wasn't much to distract me from it. Which actually became a liablity eventually.....
Wind Waker for me, just an amazing game, regardless of it's Zelda title. The sheer scale of the game just rocked (whole ocean, not main quest). Then again, I havn't played that many GC games. I need to pick up more!
Others that are great- Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime, Resident Evil 4.
The easy answer would be Zelda cause it was a great game, but the game I love playing with friends is DON. I like SB, but I thought DON was just more fun.
