Rogue Galaxy? (PS2)

Seeing some of the videos of it, I was absolutely impressed ... Im really thinking of picking it up but ...How is the story? Is it good? Does it copy off of other games? This will pretty much make or break my purpose. I enjoy good gameplay in a game, but its the story that usually makes or breaks it for me. Opinions on the game? Rogue Galaxy? (PS2)
You're in luck. I just beat the game yesterday :)The story is pretty good. for the story It takes some old ideas and puts new spins of them and introduces some new things as well. Plot twists are kinda mixed. Some have intense for shadowing while there are a few that will drop from no where and blow you away. Character development is kinda mixed as well. While all character do recieve some, about three of the eight really don't get much of any attentention after their respective introductions until the last hours of the game. The rest though get very goood exposure.Over all the story is good. Not the best, but certainly not bad. It's memorable and it's an experience worth having.Game play wise it's great, the sound track is excelent, the voice acting is pretty good and the graphics are pretty impressive. Considering the games is only twenty bucks tops now a day, I absolutly reccomend it.I plan to post a review soon. I'll likely give it an 8.5/10.Rogue Galaxy? (PS2)
I'll get it then. Not now cuz uh ...I kind of just bought like 1 SS 1 DC 2 PS1 and 1 PS2 game. o_o;
This game is really great. It's like they took the best parts of Star Ocean, Dragon Quest VII and Final Fantasy 13 and made this game. If you liked any of those games at all you will like this one.
good game from level 5 , i tell you know you should pick it up and you won't be disapointed
Its only good for a once through. Rent it if you can.
The gameplay is sweet, but if your looking for a story its pretty terrible.

I'd have to generally agree with those who have said the games a good game overall. the storyline is a laid back version of star wars meets final fantasy 12 you traverse the universe as Jaster a young boy stuck on his home planet desperately seeking an adventure and to free his land from the empire's tyranical rule. In a huge mix up some space pirates kidnap you thinking you are a legendary bounty hunter and from there on you have a lot of adventures trapsing the universe. Unfortunately the backstory for most of the characters is very condensed you get a lot of information but in a very very short amount of time. The gameplay is addicting and the graphics are very colorful alot of people felt it didn't do Level 5 justice but personally I disagree. However it is only good for about one gameplay so I'd take your time enjoying the worlds and exploring every inch you can. With the vast bug battling minigame it gives you a change of pace and the bounty list is sure to keep most people busy for a long time. You can easilly have a 100 hours or more of your life sucked up by this game.

the characters are pretty stock, but that can be said about a lot of RPGs. The added element of space exploration, and the decidedly anime feel of the characters gives it bonus points, IMO. but what i really like about it is the customization available. Once you get to the second planet in the game, you'll be able to take your weapons or armor and combine them together to make new, better weapons and armor. Huge variety, and you're never sure what you'll get. If you play, hang onto all your weapons/armor. Don't sell them. I recommend it. (and another thread has made me want to go back and play a game again. Damn, it's Dragon Quest all over again... I have new games to play, people!)
