What was the best memory you've ever had involving videogames?Mine would have to be either opening my N64 on my sixth birthday or getting my grandma to buy my Wii for me (with my money of course) because a certain company's policy would not allow me or my parents to.Best Videogame Memory
Well when I had unwrapped my 6th bithday gift from my parents ,and I saw a N64. My eyes were never the same.Best Videogame Memory
When I recieved the Wii for Christmas. It was a surprise for me, I thought that I wasn't going to recieve one, due to its shortages. The first one who played the Wii in my home was my mom. She learned how to play Wii Sports Bowling quickly. It was very fun to play the Wii with adults. Those were good times.
It would have to be either the first time I played Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 3 or playing Super Mario 64 back in 96'. Super Mario Bros. showed me how fun video games can be, Super Mario Bros. 3 showed me how perfect a game can be (Its still my favorite game of all time), and Super Mario 64 showed me how revolutionary a game can be.
Christmas Day '94 - playing Super Mario 3 on the SNES for the very first time (I had the Mario All Stars pack).
Definately when I got my Super Nintendo for Christmas. Even with only 1 game (Super Mario World) I just couldn't stop playing that for about a month.
My favorite memory has to be my brother, sister, and I opening up our new N64 and Super Mario 64 in Christmas of 96. We were completely in awe of the then amazing and literally mind boggling graphics and 3D gameplay of SM64. It surely was a truly classic and amazing game. The N64 ended up being the highlight of our childhoods. So much time spent playing amazing games on it...
Playing Banjo Kazooie with my cousin on the N64. My cousin moved across the country sadly now and I only see him about once every two years and playing the N64 with him are some of the best memories I have.
There's definitely a few that dominate my mind.Begging my mom to let me play Super Mario Bros. 2. I remember one time she was on the phone and when my verbal pleas were not enough, I actually wrote the question and a yes or no option for her to circle. She ignored me for awhile before circling no. Despite not getting what I always wanted, it is a fond memory. (I always had to ask if it was ok for me to play back then) Getting Super Mario Bros. 3, enough said.Getting Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project for my birthday in 1992 I vividly remember having an ''N64 Kid'' moment of my own.Getting a Sega Genesis w/ Sonic 2 for Christmas in 1992. My best friend (and still to this day) and I argued who Santa brought it first, ha ha. Wow, 1992 was a big year for me.Keeping up to date on Sonic 3 is the first memory I have of researching and anticipating a game.Playing Super Mario 64 was a mindblowing experience.Putting in hundreds of hours into GoldenEye with my friends, finally buying my own N64, and putting in many more hundreds of hours.Playing Ocarina of Time for the first time in a Wal-Mart, just running around Hyrule Field....then I got the game as a surprise gift in Christmas of '98Going on a Final Fantasy rampage when I got my PS1.
-Getting Pokemon Gold. I don't know why but this moment stands out in my mind. It was the first time I anticipated a game and woke up early to get to stores before everyone else. I remember just sitting there for hours playing.
-Another memory that stands out is getting Super Smash Bros. Melee. This had to be the most perfect day of my life. Wakign upon a holiday morning to Super Smash Bros. Looking out my window to a fresh blanket of snow with the sun glistening off the surface. Just stuffing myslf with a big breakfast, spending time with my family and going home to play super SmashBro. Melee with my sister.
Finding out that James McCloud survived. My brother beat Brain Andross (a holy crap moment to this day), and then came the escape sequence. Then James comes out of nowhere, and I smell like buttcrack the rest of the day ;):P.
The best thing that ever happened to me in my entire gaming life was getting the SEGA channel. 50 new games every month. I'll never forget staying up until midnight when each month changed over to see the new games. It was like Christmas every month. Man I miss that thing.
My all time is playing tony hawk pro skater with my cousin shawn, he always beat me XD. I haven't seen him in a long time, 6 or 7 years ago he went into the navy I saw him like 2 times after that so I haven't seen him for like 4 years he was my best friend, last summer I got to talk to him on live, but only a few times he hasn't been on since september.Second getting the snes (my first console) on my 4th b-day. It was 98 though so I'm only 13.And third was playing cabela's (don't know which one) at a friends party, evryone was screaming
whenever we saw something lol. Then my friend tryed kniving a wolf, so i tried kniving a rhino  epic fail.
The moment my dad bought me an Atari, I thought we won a lottery.
I have two1. Back in 1991-1992, I was working over the summer and when I got my first check, I asked my mother to stop by Toys R Us and pick up a game for me. There were already 5-6 friends at my house waiting in anticipation of my mother arriving. Well she came in with the TRU bag and $62.49 later I had STREET FIGHTER 2 for the SNES!! Then I proceeded to kick everyone else's @$$e$, LOL!!! Good times to be a fight fan then...and it's great now by the way.1a. October 26, 2000...Launch day for the PS2. I spent the night outside the WalMart in VA to get one and lo and behold, the store I waited at had only 21 units to sell and I was #13 in line. We all played catch, listened to music and just talked about PS games and what this system would bring us. Morning came, I picked it up, got interviewed by FOX5 on the spot, went home for breakfast, traveled to MD to pick up Tekken Tag Tournament and the last memory card available that day for miles around, went back home and........crashed til about 6-6:30pm, LOL! I was exhausted but when I woke up, I wore a hole in that system beating TTT over and over to get all the characters. To this day, I don't regret doing that. :-)
Renting N64 as soon as it came out, and played Mario 64 on it.... OR! getting N64 for christmas with Star Wars, That game was awesome
Holding Zelda OoT in my hands for the first time. :D
My best gaming memory was getting a Sega Mega Drive on my Birthday in 1997 as well as playing Sonic the Hedgehog for the 1st time, loved the game !
I am 32, so my memories are a bit older than some of you. I remember mowing yards/raking leaves/shoveling snow in 1989 for the sole purpose of buying a TurboGrafx-16(came w/Keith Courage in Alpha Zones). God, that system rocked my world. Then I got my first job at 15 (at a True VAlue Hardware store) w/the sole purpose of saving for a Genesis (came w/altered beast)and a GameBoy (the chunky b/w one that came w/Super Mario World). Anyway, when I bought the Genesis, it was at a MEijer 4.5 miles from home. I had to ride my bike there (summer of 1990, hot as HELL) to buy it. $212.00. I'l never forget it. Anyway, I had to ride home one handed, so I could hold the GIANT Genesis box under my Right arm. I wrecked on the way home, and I saw the box roll sideways down a hill into a ditch. OH NOES>. I was shaking I was so freaked. I couldn't believe it. Long story short, I got home, and it worked flawlessly. Gotta respect the old cartridge systems their durability if nothing else!!! Still, have that Genesis, and it works to this day.
I have many fond memories, ranging from the dozens of hours of Duck Hunt to the many hours of battling it out in Block fort or Skyscaper in Mario Kart 64.However, I think my absolute favourite, was getting Majora's Mask. I paid for it in full myself, plus the expansion pack it needed. My dad dropped me off at my Nans, I ran downstairs, set up my N64 and played it all day. The TV was crap but I loved that game. I loved it so much. That was my fondest memory.
