How much did you pay? It's a solid remake, and a very enjoyable game.

I just sold my new copy for $85
Lol, wow!I got it for $20.00. And it seems like a pretty good game, I should play it after Pikmin.
I agree with the above. PS1 MGS is the REAL way to experience it. I own Twin Snakes as well, and it's a FANTASTIC game in it's own right. The thing about the cutscenes is that Kojima greenlit them. The director for TS's cutscenes is known for stylish action shots. He originally portrayed them the way they were in MGS for PS1. Kojima told him to add his own flair to it as the originals could already be seen on the PS1 version. That's why they signed him on to direct the cutscenes in the first place. So he could show you his version.
No mather how many people will tell you that the PS version is better, you still made a great buy and MGS TS is an excellent game and well worthy of the Metal Gear brand. Enjoy!
All I can say about the Twin Snakes....from what I remember.....was that the lip syncing for the Codec convos were god awful....everything else I loved though, great remake :).

If your a fan of the PS1 version.
It depends... if you approach it with an open mind you'll probably have a great time with it (despite some flaws), but if you're biased against it then you might not like it.Oh and also, if you've already played MGS1 you'll probably like the original more, but if you play this game first you'll probably like it more.
Great buy! The original is the best still, but its always nice playing a remake of a great game.
i prefer the original but if dony have a ps or a ps2 its ok

Don't have a GC so I never played it.
The FPS mode in twin snakes and having control of the camera took very frustrating boss battles, like Revolver Ocelot, and made them incredibly easy. To some this is an improvement, to hardcore ''purists'', I can see why you prefer the static cam PSX version. I'm torn as I love the graphical overhaul but the bosses really are rather easy on the GC version.
I didn't get to play the original on the PSX yet, but I did thoroughly enjoy the GC version. It's kind of a short and easy game though. My second time through I beat the game in like two and half a hours, and that was on hard. My first time through it was a seven hour run through.
Wait....I don't get it. Why is the original better? Up until now I was under the impression that aside from the cutscenes and enhanced visuals, it was still essentially the same game as the original.

You know what I did, I played it without using the FPS part of it and enjoyed the game just fine. I still have my original PSX version in mint condition. My personal preference is for the GC version, even though I played the PSX version first, I very much enjoyed the added cut scenes, specially the ones with Grey Fox (Cyber Ninja)
