I am in the middle of MGS4 and I am really into the game but I don't know much about the story. So I was thinking of getting the Compilation but I have some questions.Does the game play exactly like MGS4(controls)?Is it better to get the compilation than to find the director's cuts for PS2 and twin snakes on game cube? Also, for those with an 80GB PS3, does MGS3 play well even with the framerate issues? I want to get the most out of these games which is why I am not sure if I should get the set or get the director's cuts.Metal Gear Compilation Questions
Get the compliation. The controls are not the same as MGS 4 though. MGS 4 has the ability to switch to a behind the back view while shooting while MGS 1 (from the compliation) only has third person shooting (except when sniping and using the RCM), and MGS 2 and 3 have the ability to switch from third to first person while shooting. I suggest you get the compliation because you get 3 games for $30 while the Twin Snakes is just a remake of MGS 1 with first person shooting and better graphics (and arguably worse voice acting) for $30. Yes get the compilation. And please I beg you to not be against the graphics of the first Metal Gear Solid game. The story is there and thats what matters.
Okay, you need to get the past games so you understand what's going on, and the Essential Collection is a great way to do it. It has the director's cuts of MGS2 (Substance) and MGS3 (Subsistence, although only the first disc), along with the original MGS1.Twin Snakes is a great remake with a few flaws, but at this point it's probably not worth getting it. Buying Twin Snakes used could easily cost you as much as the whole Essential Collection. They both have the same story, and that's the important part.
the Twin Snakes is just a remake of MGS 1 with first person shooting and better graphics (and arguably worse voice acting)
I honestly think that the voice acting in TTS is better than in the original game (and the removed accents fit with MGS4 better)... it's all personal preference though.
Get it.

Maybe because you own a Gamecube and think its better.
Yes, I do own a Gamecube and think the TTS voice work is better; that's what I just said. If you're implying that I'm biased, I own MGS1 for the PS1 too... I wouldn't be able to make an accurate comparison between the voiceover work of both games without having both available to play.
