PS1 HDTV issue

Hi,I had a question about my ps1.Where to start...I just got myself a new HDTV because i have a dry eye problem so a LCD tv works wonders when gaming long sessions. I kind of play very old games because i love old school rpg's.When i play ps1 NTSC games on my HDTV the screen flickers and rolls. When i play a ps1 PAL game it runs perfectly. I have an RGB cable and that should take care of the pal/ntsc problem. My ps1 is modded to play import games and the game i am using is an original copy. My pstwo has the same problem. I use the same cable i use with the ps1. With ps2 games all games work. Both NTSC import games and pal games. If the RGB cable where broken it should not play ps2 NTSC games. Does anyone know why i can't play NTSC ps1 games on my new HDTV? I could play them on my old tv but my eyes don't like that very much. Can i fix this by buying a component cable?PS1 NTSC, PS1 PAL, PS2 NTSC and PS2 PAL work great on my old tv.Thanks in advance for answering my questions.William PS1 HDTV issue
PS1 and PS2 do not support HD. When I played my N64 on one, it did the same thing.PS1 HDTV issue
But then i should have problems with PAL games as well. And they work great.
Im not sure how games from other regions work. All I can tell you is that US PS2 games can run on HD TVs using component cables(which makes it technically run in HD), the normal composite cables the PS2 comes with and S-video cambles.PS1 games on theo ther hand can only be displayed using the S-video or composite cables.I know this first hand.Sorry, but I don't know how it works for the other regions.I prefer the prettiest picture I can get though, so I go with the component cables for PS2 games and the S-video cable for the original PS1 games.
ps2 can run hd on 3 gamesgt4 tt and true crime ny
The flickering shouldn't be due to the fact that PS1 games aren't HD. The image won't look very good, but it should be stable. I'm thinking it's an issue with the cable.
I am going to buy a component cable today and i will return it to the store if it doesn't work.Maybe i am going to try a vga box too. Can that work if there is an upscaler in the vga box?
